Read-A-Thon

  • Kickoff: Friday Feb. 12
  • Half-day "read-in": Wednesday Mar. 3
  • Pledge funds, forms due: Friday Mar. 12

The SES PTSA made the decision last summer to forgo the auction in 2010 in favor of a fundraiser that did not rely heavily on consumption in a time of economic hardship. Instead, we invite all families to participate in this wonderful event that will promote literacy and a love of reading in addition to raising funds for SES. By holding a pledge-based event, our hope is that families will reach out to friends, neighbors, grandparents, co-workers — anyone who believes in SES's mission and loves literacy!

Territorial Seed and Spring Bulbs Sale

Do sunny days have you thinking of your spring and summer garden? Brighten your garden with spring-planted bulbs and save money by growing your own vegetable starts and flowers. Our annual Territorial seed sale starts this weekend and runs through February 19th. This year we've combined it with the chance to order quality bulbs.

Bulb orders can be done through the flyer sent home this week. You can also print one from the attached pdf. One check can be written for both sales. Territorial Seed catalogs and extra bulb flyers will be in the front entry hall. You can also view the Territorial catalog online at territorialseed.com or download the catalog

SES PTSA retains 45% of the seed sale price and 50% of the bulb sales so your orders help support our Sustainability Coordinators, overnight scholarships and other PTSA programs like music. Orders can be put into the envelope in the office or deposited into the PTSA safe in the workroom next to the office. Seed orders will be placed February 20th. Seeds should arrive within two weeks. Bulbs will ship separately and arrive within a few weeks. Questions about bulbs can be directed to Claire Barnett and questions about the seed sale can be directed to Cindi Carrell, 503-232-0880.

Flyers for our annual plant sale will be distibuted Mid-March so stay tuned for information closer to the date. All of this information will be available on the www.sesptsa.com website under Fundraising. Please pass this email on to friends, neighbors, and family.

Thanks,
The PTSA Board

Lovable Labels

Interested in ordering durable, washable labels for your student's gear? Twenty percent of all sales generated returns to SES PTSA to supporting our programs. Created by a Canadian mom, this line of labels includes Regular and Slimline Stickers (great for lunch containers, water bottles and other smaller items), Shoe Labels, Iron-ons and Bag Tags. The labels are bright, simple and durable. The Regular and Slimline labels are microwave and dishwasher safe, the Iron-on labels stay put in the washer and dryer, the Shoe Labels have an extra strength adhesive to ensure they won't come off (great for rain boots), and the Bag Tags are made of a durable and flexible plastic. Follow this link to our ordering web site: www.SES.lovablelabels.ca
